A Retrospective Study of Tonsils among Children

In Indian perspective there is less information about the influences of chronic tonsillitis on the anthropometric measurement of affected children, such as weight and height of the Z-score. Therefore, the aim of the study to determine the association of chronic tonsillitis with growth parameters. Total 100 cases were included for the study on the basis of retrospectively. The study was conducted at Department of ENT, Vinayaka Mission Medical College, Pondicherry. Children were recruited with written consent. All the patients meet their inclusion and exclusion criteria. Written consent obtained from the patients and care taker. Institutional ethical clearance was obtained. Confounders and determinants of tonsils were were evaluated in VMC hospital. Resulted findings state that between -3 to 4 SD, Z score were more prone to significantly associated with tonsils complications. Further study will be needed to cope with early detection of tonsils for both male and female children.
